What we're working on

Open projects, built in public. Every one of them needs more hands, so pick one and say hi!

Collecting resources

Solarpunk

Imagining and building sustainable futures.

Solarpunk is both an idea and a practice: a movement that imagines futures where technology and nature coexist and collaborate, instead of standing in opposition.

We started with a panel at Fértil Fest on what solarpunk really means, why it matters now, and the concrete shapes it already takes, from projects and tools to communities turning these principles into action. This list is where we keep what we find.

How you can help
  • Share a book, tool or project we should add to the list
  • Bring a solarpunk idea you want to prototype in the Algarve

Junk Drawer

A creative reuse centre for the Algarve.

Creative reuse centres are community spaces that put the circular economy into practice by turning "junk" into material for artistic expression. A third place to meet, make and share — knowledge as much as materials — where nothing goes to waste and everything has its place.

We're working out how to start one as sustainably as possible, shaped by what our community needs and can offer. It began with a workshop at Fértil Fest: a brainstorm about these spaces, and a collage answering "What is a sustainable future for you?" No experience needed, open to all ages.

How you can help
  • Donate materials: fabric, paper, wood offcuts, packaging, old tools
  • Know of a space we could use? Tell us
  • Help plan workshops and the opening
